Default zetec/ cvh

Hello, I have just joined passion ford.com , I drive an Escort Cosworth replica. Its a Mk 5 xr31. I am aware that you can bolt a zetec bottom end on to a cvh turbo engine. My question is can you bolt the cvh top end on to the zetec bottom end in the mk5 or is there extensive work required?

What your talking about is a ZVH conversion, which for a Mk5 xr3i would be a waste of time as the zetec 16v has the better head than the 8v CVH. And yes there is a lot of work involved if you do try it.

It would be infinately easier to find a 2.0 Zetec from a Mondie and drop that in cus you should be able to put it in without any major hassle and only really need to map the ECU and change a few of the ancillaries. Plus you can turbo it for about 2k-3k and bobs your mothers uncle you have a cossie replica that goes like one.

Why thank you, I'm glad you aprove. Thinking of Zetec conversions I'll need to have a word with you about engine mounts for a Mk4 escort as I understand you do them.

you are right mate , the rngine mount doesnt fit straight on , but is an easy mod and costs nothing . ( except for the standard mount obviously .)
