Hi,

I have an Escort Cos (large turbo)
Problem is i broke down yesterday and it wont fire up again

I was just driving,i pulled into a petrol station,filled up and when i went to start it it was just turning over but no final spark to make it run

Has anyone got any idea what i could check

Does it have an imobiliser, could be playing up, this would let it turn but not let it start on some so they just turn over.

Not sure if they work by stopping fuel or spark though

 

when you go to click 2 (the one brfore cranking) on the ignition, do you hear the fuel pump run and the idle valve click? if you go back to 0 then back to click 2, does it do it?

could be the engine running relay failed in the fusebox or come loose, a failed imobilser, or coroded multiplugs, this is what happened 4 times with mine - after doin each of the above and it doin it again, it was " this " close to being set fire to cost me a few hundred quid in new bits beofer i found it was the multiplug wiring under the bonnet near the ignition coil

It has 2 immobilisers, cat 1 & Vecta cat 2

Yes you here the Idle valve click everytime
The Fuel pump goes on the 1st go at turning the key but doesnt prime through everytime

Ive cleaned the crank sensor
Replaced the:
phase Sensor
Ignition Module
coil

What colour and which relay is the engine running relay?

Anyone no a good auto spark in the North West around Liverpool?
