Default Focus hissing at me

Hi All,

I hope someone can help. I have recently bought 2013 Focus 1.6 tdci. As the air con blew no cold air i took it to the garage this morning to have aircon re-gassed. On the drive home the car drove normally (no noise) and was extra cold as expected.

Now in the afternoon, 6 hours afyer having system re-gassed when i i started the engine i could hear a strange 'hissing' noise from behind the sterring wheel area of car. As shown in video link below noise stops when air con is disabled AND i know no longer have cold air. Im guessing a leak somewhere and will retirn to garage BUY can anyone suggest where to start.

The video hopefully demonstrates whats happening:

Cheers in advance,
Ow

I believe they can put a colour in to the system to help locate a leak, I think taking it back to the place you had it done at is the starting point but also google a description of your problem as I bet it will ping something on a forum where people have experienced it before.

I just googled "2013 Focus air con leak" and there are loads of forum hits.

Thanks Caddyshack. Well I took it back to garage who carried out further diagnostics and found the leak coming from the condenser. Luckily im still in 3 month warranty window from purchasing car so fingers crossed will have it repaired under warranty.

That will be a good outcome and you should be covered.

Ok, the garage spoke to warranty company and they will only cover the condenser IF its failed mechanically BUT it will not cover damage from a stone. Ive gone back to the garage I purchase the car less than 2 months ago and was unaware it was damaged. Fingers crossed i get somewhere.

I think you are covered for defects but a stone would not be the garage fault....I would be friendly and ask for help, instead of demanding
