Focus TDCi turbo hissing
Hi all, I have looked at various answers to similar questions all over internet, but still have no definitive answer.!
I have a 2006 (06) Focus TDCi 1.8 LX, I recently noticed when driving with my window open, a hissing noise at around 2000rpm+, which sounded OK!, but noticed it lost some grunt also that "Turbo kick" you get doesn't seem to be as "Hoomph" as before, Also some black smoke when under heavy acceleration, I had it mapped about 7 month ago from 115bph - 130bhp(ish).
All answers to questions I've seen point to EGR valve, or cracked intercooler pipe.
I am not that confident with bits I don't understand, could anyone point me in the direction of cleaning EGR with pic's is poss.
Thanks in advance
Mark

Update:!! Sorted it, I removed the main hose from the egr valve, Removed the metal piece (With sensor) which seperates the rubber one, Sprayed all the pipes with Carb Cleaner, Also sprayed the Inlet with Car Cleaner, Wrapped an old lint free rag around the end of an old longish screwdriver and removed all the crud from in there (Alot of thick black sludge), Put all back together and started.
Loud knocking, and loads of blue smoke, which I am guessing was the cleaning spray working its way out, small amount of revs, left ticking over for 3-4 minutes and took round the block going from 1st-5th without hitting turbo, then went on the open road, and opened it up WOW!!! Back to how it should be, If not better, Response was amazing.
Just thought I would share with anyone that was interested!!
