its so much easier than working it out!

i've got one of these adjustable boost gizzmos that can only increase boost - so the idea is to back the actuator off to min and let the thingy take over

are they wort the high cost - about a fiver?

Default boost

I think a bleed valve is used to fool the actuator in to giving more boost.

The bleed valve bleeds off a small ammount of air/pressure so the actuator is seeing less pressure than is present in the intake system. The more air that is allowed to escape (bleed off) will result in the actuator remaining closed for longer until enough pressure has built up to overcome the spring pressure in the actuator.

Aye you want to shorten for more boost but i wouldnt knock the boost all the way down then readjust with a boost controller. You want some pre load on the actautor or you'll end up with a slightly more laggier response. Set the boost manually slighlty below the point where your gonna have the controller take over.
I.E Pre load it to 1 bar then set the low boost on the controller to 1.1.
