Default DEEP ECU wiring

I've got a DEEP ECU for my silver top zetec for fitting to my MK3 escort, but can't find a pin out wiring diagram for it, even googling it. Anyone help?

Thanks for that big wasa, can't say I understand all of the wiring, like 3 fan relays, and what is an Engine Control Relay?

Do you mean the code number on the box, its 93BB-12A650-EF on the DEEP, and the same on the DESK apart from ending ED

Engine control relay, the ignition switch doesn't power up the ecu. A relay does. The ecu lets the relay power it up if the alarm unit says it's ok. Ie anti hot wire.

You don't really need it.

Fan relays, on some models there is a two stage fan and an extra fan for the Ac. The ecu controlled the Ac.

If you use an external fan switch then you don't need the above either.

I havnt just pulled this of the net. I pulled a loom to bits and traced it all out. I've done all sorts from the basic 2.0 pre pats 1993 Mondeo to the 2004 a Focus St170 and now the Focus Rs. I also have the st220 to look at.

Yeah thats it.

The hardware code is for the layout/design of the electronics. The code is on the white printed label stuck to the connector.

My Deep ECU has now arrived, but with no wiring plug (socket?), so I've got to adapt the old socket (TELL PATS) which I think I can do with all the much appreciated help on here. But can these pins with wires easily be pulled out and refitted to holes where previously there was no pin. Is it just a case of giving them a tug?

Ok, all going well, most wires now sorted. Can anyone confirm that the 4 injectors have a ignition switched + ve supply, and the ECU supply's the earth when required, or is it the other way around. Also does a 4 wire lamba have a permanent supply on the violet wire. Thanks.

The ecu switches the earth so yes switched 12v to the injectors, coil ect and the ecu fires them by earthing them.

The O2 also wants a switched live. This is for the heater and not the sensor.

VSS is electro mechanical.

Goes in place of speedo cable then speedo cable goes into VSS.

You can live without it. EEC may give trouble code for faulty VSS unless disabled in EEC software.

I'm all wired up now, but the engine is not firing, so I've decided to wire in the OBD connector to see what faults it gives. So the question is, how does the 16 pin connector wire in with a DEEP ECU.

Thanks for that jsa, so its ECU pin 18 to OBD pin 3, and ECU pin 19 to OBD 11. And I under stand OBD pin 4 is earth, and OBD pin 16 is permanent 12V supply. That's four wires sorted, how many more need connecting?

If the tool you are using needs 12V from the OBD port, then yes, 4 & 5 are ground, and 16 is +12V.

'93 era EEC won't support anything more than DCL.
