Default Escort Turbo clutch

.

Hi all, I've got a turbo EFi cabby, spec is not over the top and only ever gonna be 190 bhp max, usual mods, Cam, Port head, Wossener pistons, Motorsport Development chipped ECU running 701 Beige injectors, front mount Stainless air filter etc.

Just after peoples opinion on clutches, Been having a look and seems to be quite a lot of choice. Now this is not a race car, but I want something that is going to last as I want to do a track outing (not racing anyone just to get some track time) at a reasonable price.

Seen these on ebay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Ford-Escor...EAAOSwymxVJneM not overly priced but doesn't state any torque figure ratings etc, Anyone ever used one ???

I have run a 4 paddle AP in the past on my old car and had no issues but don't really want to be paying £400 plus for one.

Also seen these black diamond units http://www.larkspeed.com/shopper/i/3...-Kevlar-Clutch @ £187 which is very reasonable.

Any help or advice appreciated

Ginger

I have used the black diamond one, mk2 xr2 with 195 chip, 701 injectors and 15psi was fine for the 18 months I used it as a daily. Didn't exactly give it a hard life everyday but it never slipped when driven in anger.

Plenty of life in it when I removed it.

AP Organic every time. Ran one on my old FRST and it was spot on and nice in use, unlike my Helix which works but is bugger to use and had my old mate RichardPON shouting "fucking clutch" whenever he moved my car

I have the helix 4 paddle in my mk1 and it is a pain in the arse. I sound like a learner trying to pull off.

I run a four paddle AP with standard cover and bearing. Sometimes a bit of judder when holding at biting point (i.e. reversing) but not too bad, and when moving don't even notice it.
