Securing silicone hose to stainless pipe
Hi, i noticed a nick in the water feed pipe to my turbo on a cosworth yb, there was plenty of spare so have just cut a piece of the end.
The problem is when trying to refit to the stainless fitting it is allowing the silicone hose to move when tightened unless I tighten the jubilee to the extent it s going to cut the pipe again.
Just wondered if anyone else has had this issue and if so how did you resolve it, I had considered sanding the pipe a little to help it grip but it seems a bit of a bodge

Fully clean pipe and hose with a degreaser or good old washing up liquid. And i would use fuel hose clips as they dont dig in and damage pipe.

IMO the silicone hose should be a tight, almost leak free fit in the first place, all the jubilee clip should be doing is gripping to the hose to stop it popping off over the rib on the end of the metal pipe it's fitting on to.
Thanks for your replies, it is quite a tight fit and it doesn't move on and off its just that it can spin. A bit like everything's been sprayed with wd40 first. I have ordered some new clips so fingers crossed
