As above, i have a problem that started two days ago, i can shift through the gears fine from 1st to fith however when down shifting from fith to fouth it jumps out of gear every time, any ideas

it'll be the brass bit of the syncro ring that's gone

it not only slows down the box to help engage gears but also grips the ring to hold the gear into place

had it on one of mine and it's a fairly common problem from what i've heard over the last 15 years

worth getting the whole box freshened up as it's a total strip down to change that bit
