Default S2 judder in reverse

drives fine but some resistance while changing gears.
reverse engages fine but as soon as u hit the biting point the car visciously judders, and only slightly moves. Also the whole engine also visciously shakes when trying to reverse.

someone has suggested it may be the rear gearbox mount has given up.
and someone else has suggested the diff bearings maybe fooked, but they wasnt sure because it drives fine in all forward gears.

any ideas???
