erst problem
Hi guys
I've got an escort rs turbo series two 1988 spec.
when you drive it and get to 3000rpm i9ts like you hit a limiter it wont rev the turbo boosts at 0.6 bar and holds nut theres no kick .
been told it could be the boost pipe collapsing but the one from the metering unit to the turbo has a metal pipe spliced in to it half way.Is there anything else this could be?
need help getting desperate??

compresion check thats a new keep getting different ideas.
I can,t see why it would be overboost as its only 0.6 bar
maybe my ecu is fucked aswell
joys of owning an rs

HI,
Check all your turbo related hoses are tight, cant see it overboosting at 0.6bar.
check your spark plugs and gaps, also check the heated seat fuse in fuse box
as this enriches the mixture on boost conditions.also check ignition timing
advances remove ecu pipe from inlet manifold and blank off hole in inlet manifold
and with the car ticking over around 800-+50rpm, 12degrees btdc, blow down the vacuum pipe of the ecu silver ecu and the ignition should retard,, suck on the pipe and it should advance the ignition if not need ecu,
Dave.
