Default Type 9, 5 Speed Gearbox help :)

Got a type 9, 5 speed gear box fitted on my mk1

Gear one is very close to reverse, and its easy to put it in the wrong gear.
should there be a sur clip to stop you selecting reverse over gear 1?

were is it located?

Thanks Sean
