i have a beautiful 1984 xr3i convertable which has had a zetec 16v engine put in it, havd had can for couple of months with no probs but last week it started cutting out whilst driving, and not starting sometimes, now it wont fire at all, things i have tried are:
new coil pack
cam sensor
crank shaft sensor
cleaned and renewed earth strap
nothing has worked i now beg of you all to give me any other ideas in what may be causing this, pleeease help as i want my lovely pinky to ride again,

 

Have you checked the fuel pump is running? replaced fuel filters etc?

 

fuel pump is running and fuel is getting to the engine, the problem is no spark,

 

Trace and check the 3 wires that go to the coil pack +plug. if everything else is new.
And also the wires to the crank sensor.

 

THANKS FOR THAT, PEE VEE, i will give that a go but in the mean time if anyone else has any ideas i would love to hear them

Crank sensor as above is a good shout.

 

FIXED IT, thanks for your help guy, the live feed wire to coil pack was snapped, yeah!!!!
