Default S1 EFI ofab conversion wont start!!!!!!!

Hi Chaps

Im having a little difficulty with my efi conversion on my s1. i have fully installed the ofab loom and ecu with the necessary relays for fuel injection and fuel pump etc... i have spark and plenty of fuel but i can only seem to get the car to fire with a squirt of solvent down the intake???? then it runs reasonably well with a bit of missfire. ive checked pretty much all the sensors on the engine. All this wiring and ecu was removed from my fiesta turbo which was all running spot on!!!! Ive read a few similar storys on here regarding these issues but the threads seem end without a conclusion??? lol This is realy driving me up the wall now, any help and advise would be very much appreciated guys?????

Have you checked all the earths mate? i had the same problem on my series 2 when i EFI converted it and it was a earth. Sent me crazy for ages so i know how you feel. You using a FRST block with CPS built in the block or a 36-1 trigger wheel?

The problem i had with mine was i couldnt get it to spark and it eneded up being the small brown earth wire that runs along with the amal valve wiring. Most people hate wiring i know i sure do lol best thing to do is go over all the wiring again and exactly what you have done & double check i had to do that a few times.

My mates just built a fiesta rs turbo and he is having the same problem as you with having a spark and having fuel up to the injectors but only fires on like brake cleaner or easy start up the crossover pipe.

Thanks bud I've checked that anal valve earth, that's connected to the body as I should be. Yes I read about the chap with the same problem having to use brake cleaner to start. It's certainly a strange one I've done a few efi zetec conversions in mk4 escorts with no issues what so ever so I'm stumped on this one lol.

What starter motor are you using as when I converted my van to a turbo I used the original diesal starter motor and it took ages to start used to back fire then start
Took me ages to find out
But the diesal starter works on a pulse and this was interfering with the cps signal
I fitted a old fiesta starter I had and it was fine

Hi I'm using a starter from an escort rst which seems to be working well. My cps tested spot on with a meter on crankin so think thats all good. The only sensor i havent changed is the air charge one on the inlet manifold (Rightside) but will that realy stop it starting? Poxy thing!!!!!! lol

Still no joy with engine starting problem!!!!! My injectors are not pulsing and cranking??? They pulse when the fuel pump primes though. I cant think where else to look anymore lol. One thing I have noticed is that I have 12 volts to both injector wires when ignition on im sure this isn't right. Anymore suggestions guys?
