Default From WS to OE ignition ?

Hi I run a 2wd Sapp Cos with a 4wd engine and WS ignition setup.....and a New engine loom wired for WS.

Can anyone tell me how to change it back to OE ign setup...? I need to find out witch wires in the 3pin coil plug I need for the OE ign coil...?

Why on earth would you want to, i don't care what some say about a OE system it is shite - i had nothing but trouble with mine and i've since changed to W/S and not a problem in 4 years

Sorry it doesn't answer your question

Well it's a long story but put in short I have had some problems with my coss for a while ( feks. when engine braking, the car starts to jerk/hesitate as soon as it comes below approx 2000rpm, and when driving below 2000rpm it runs very uneven and it's a pain driving in town) and Ive tried just about all, except I have not been trying another ECU but as I run ws I have to do this to make it work with my other ECU as it has no ws driver. I suspect the fault to be either the current ECU or chip/eprom....as all sensor seems ok, checked for air leaks, bad connections and so on and still no luck...:-(

Have you looked at TPS ? if set incorrectly they cause all manner of weird problems.

Well I've tested and adjusted it with a IAW monitor ... but I will try to find a new PF09, just to try another, but I've not had any luck yet :-(

Any chance that you know a place to get a new one ??

If you have set it up with the iaw then it should be fine and if you see a steady rise then again it should be ok.
As for a new one there getting thin on the ground could try ducati bike dealers or moto guzzi as some of there models use the pf 09. also as you know fiats, lancias use them too.
What plugs you using? also what leads? hear that some blue motorsport leads are not so good.

Make sure your leads are not near the map sensor as this also can cause issues.

Are your earth cables ok? its been suggested on here by a tuner to put an extra earth on the ecu to body.

Hope you sort your issues out as wasted spark when working correctly can't be beaten.

Well I'll hunt down a PF09 ..

the plugs are 071c's as Ive been running for years with no probs at all .. leads I got with the WS setup from Stu, so they should be ok...about the earth cables .. I have been thinking abouth that for a while (due to changes in the instrument lights when using indicators, braking and so on...) but until now never got the time to follow up on it...but now the car is in for it's winter sleep so as soon as it's on t´he stands I'll "pull it apart" .. sort of ... and have a look.

I still suspect ECU or chip problems though ... therefor I'll try this ECU change as mentioned earlier.

But yes WS has been working good...only thing is that it will do 1 "misfire" from time to time .. BUT ONLY ONE... very strange ...but apart from this much better that the OE setup absolutely !!

Unless you are doing it for originality purposes then it would be silly to downgrade really.

You say you have a 4x4 engine, did you get it complete with sensors?

If so then presumably you still have 2WD management, then you have the WRONG TPS, which will cause all sorts of problems.

I would look toward the software/injectors, seen as you say it started just after this.

Only one cylinder is it the same one every time? have you done a comp test and a cylinder leakage test? just a thought?

Also if only one cylinder have you tried swapping injectors and see if it moves the problem?

car is running fine above mentioned rpms....so dont think that there is a cyl problem .. but I have a look as I now have the car on stands the next 6 month

I get through all I can think of during the winter, even though I do think I've done all at least once

so must be, im my mind anyway, chip or injectors as those are the only parts changed ???

actually I didnt think of injectors .. but could problem be one of them leaking ???

My hair is actually turning gray due to this problem ..

Many times I curce myself for just wanting that bit more going to 55's instead of keeping my good and trusted Collins 803 setup witch gave me 336/438 bhp/nm with nice curves too and VERY good mpg !!

I really wish that I could afford going go MSD to have it fixed, but the trip alone is around £600 + hotels and food ... and ofcource + repair of my Sapp ... so that'll be my biggest X-mas wish ... a trip to GB in 2013

you may find a PM from Denmark at some point this year
