Problematic s1 4 yr old problem
I've had a mint s1 for 4 years and after 2 engines 4 boxes 3 brains 4 air flow meters, fuel pumps, throttle sensors, coils filters plugs and anything else that can be changed i still have same problem, pulling slowly and cutting out at 3000 or 4000 rpms, rev counter drops to 0 and no more go. Lift off accelerator dump valve goes off and car runs fine again. its currently got a 242bhp power engineering engine and chip which was bought from a friend. it still doesnt go anywhere. im thinkin of fiesta efi management cos i got a need for speed (and CHATTER) could you possibly help me before i get a nova urgh!!!!!! any help would be appreciated
Have you got descent boost hoses on there, sounds like the hoses are collapsing under boost (especially if its big boost), this causes exactly the symptons you describe. Also has the chip got sufficient boost capacity for the amount of boost you trying to run, as it could be hitting a boost limiter (even if the cars chipped).
I would recommend taking it to a decent tuner, i'm sure they could find the problem innotime at all

its been to several tuners pts places like that. its a power engineering unlimited boost chip ive tried 2 other chipped brains 1 standard still same it ran 18 psi no worries in previous car mine has run shit on both engines????
hmm don't know what to suggest then if you've changed everything. I'm very surprised a reputable tuning company can't find the problem though!! Try a post in the main forum, you might get some more response?
sounds daft but have you cleaned your air filter recently mine was doing similar things took the filter off quick run round the block problem gone. takes 2 minutes to do and you will kick your self if it works ...... i did hopurs of dicking about to find that

Possibly charge air temp sensor...
With the rev counter dropping to 0 it is a sure sign that the ECU is cutting the spark for one reason or another.....it's going to be down to either an ECU fault, wiring or sensors....
