need helo rs turbo running rough and noisey tappets
been told it has a newman cam in it are the a different timing
the rs sound if its missing when give it a rev it splutters and back fires a wee abit

With the running it's best to get it "Setup", tuned in essence, as it could be anything, you could do a basic tune yourself, replace plugs etc and go from there first.

With the tappets, if the car is new to you, change the oil, these have hydraulic tappets, and if oil changes are neglected, it will block the lifters up.

It could just be they are old, you can remove them and manually unblock them but sometimes it's easier just to buy a new set.

if it has a newman cam it will have solid lifter that could need adjusting,not sure how far scs is away from you but maybe give them a call to check your fueling,did you buy it like this? and 1 helo from me hope this helps
