Default No Spark on a cossie

i have no spark from the coil
I take the coil lead of the dizzy and put it to earth: when you turn the key to the ignition on there is a spark. When cranking the engine no spark
Any ideas lads???!!!!

Check phase sensor and crank sensor first they are usual culprits

If you have a cap from the coil to the cap but nothing the other side of the cap then I'd say try swapping the cap for another

when the lead is off the cap (coil lead to cap) there is a spark when the key is turned to ignition lights. When crranking the engine over there is no park from the lead

Try cap Gary, like I say, you have spark going in but not coming out, worth a punt.

Ps, did you see if you had them trim bits?

Don't think it's the cap, as that would not prevent it sparking whilst it's turning over.

Maybe the coil itself or possibly the amp?

Hi martin, after speaking with Gary we've ruled out dizzy cap, I believed he had a spark from the coil when cranking but he dosnt

Really strange, I got exactly the same problem tonight.
Ran the car, took it around the block, parked it back on the drive for a wash, wouldnt start after.

Exactly the same issue.... the coil lead will arc when put to earth as soon the ignition is on, but wont spark when turning over

I thought it was the group A coil which had died. Havent messed with any CPS/Dizzy.... could someone post how they should be please??

Thanks
Huw

All it is, the CPS and phase have the same connectors and physically can be interconnected to each other by mistake, this won't be your issue, as you say you haven't touched anything!

Maybe ignition amp?

Just looked at mine ... I have a black lead and black plug going to the dizzy and a black lead with white plug going to a sensor at the side of the oil filter.

Is this the CPS?

Is mine right?
Cheers
