Default E.G.R. valve new MK7 transit

Does any one no how much a egr valve for a small wheel base 57reg 85/t280 transit should be .Been warned could be as much as £280 for part ? seams steep

sounds about right rareley need replacing tho a good clean and freeing off of the plunger inside normally suffices

Yes they are around that price. They normally break the gears inside the unit.

sure someone told me something needs reprograming as well ? after new part is fitted.

think ive read they go quite often though had one done under warranty at 18000 and now on 87000 so had a canny run

yeah there around 300mark from ford, sounds like a duck when ya nock the engine off lol

they dont need programmed once the new one is fitted, just be prepared for a few corroded bolts

speak to the main dealers mate as there was a recall on these and they usually replace them foc !!!

as said above there are little tabs on the cover peel them back a bit then lift off the cover take a good look for missing teeth on the gears if all is good then just free it off, doesn't need programming,
although i was told u could buy repair kits for them to replace the gears without shelling out 300 for a new one however this isnt verified ,

Thanks for reply's people but had a new one put on today £202 and a mate put it on so all well though there was a few different egr's dearest being £300. Thanks again every one

i have been told that fiat use the same egr valve and are supposed to be a good bit cheaper than ford dealer prices
