Default lost keys

hi all,
had a fun but icy day at cadwell on sat, i was loaded and ready to go but nephew's mk5 fiesta van 1.8 turbo diesel had flat battery at end of day , no credit on his phone, late for work, then broke and lost top fob of his keys! can we get away with changing keys locks and transponder jobbie or does ecu need changing? know it has immobilizer , had a feeling that fuel pump was connected to ecu? any ideas, other than scrapping!

hi guys and girls, any one know? been suggested that fuel pump can be sorted with live feed but also told it needs to be reprogramed? can get keys, locks, transponder ring, imobilizer and ecu cheap and happy to swop but can't get the fuel pump that was with these, so will orginal one work? CHEERS

you could change the locks etc

or if its old style td then you could change the stop solinoid for an early one
i think maybe you will have tddi so its not that easy

maybe best bet is locks and ecu

HELP!!! have changed locks, transponder ring and ecu But replacement came with seperate pats box which his didn't have but have found a gemini imobilizer(maybe alarm) he didn't know it had, which looked to have been fitted profesionally but never had any fob for and car still worked so guess not active?
so basicly think his may have had pats build into ecu? the older safe guard type???any ideas how to bypass or connect pats box that his didn't have so no obvious place to plug in?
i know would proberly be easier to throw puma running gear in but he's only 17, any suggestions other than breaking? cheeRS

If its a late engine it will have a Bosch vp pump
these have there own ecu built on the top of pump & the pats is built in
only way round this is a new key programed to the vehicle.

If its the older style Lucas pump then you can just wire a 12v ignition feed to the stop solenoid

if you have the original ecu imobiliser chip reader etc
id re fit it & try a few key places as some may be able to.do it on reg plate
depends what sort of software they have
good luck

Id say get it all bck to original
but if you have a lock set & ignition barrel off the other car leave these fitted
& just get a new key cut to match from a blank & get someone to program it to the original ecu

It sounds complicated but its fairly straight forward
we had a few done at the garage i worked at

Maybe best thing ya could do is phone a mobile programer for there advice as some cut keys on site aswell as program them to ecu etc
Google for local key programers
& just ask there advice

Good luck either way

I'd have suggested just programming a new key...
MK5 Feesties use PATS 2 immobiliser. They're mega straightforward to code a new key to, and much less hassle than changing all the locks, ecu etc.

Get a decent auto locksmith to code all the original, or even the new parts with diagnostic software.
I use FoCom for pumps, injectors, PCM coding... and It does key programming too.
