Default Engine change

I have a 2006 fiesta zetec s and it has siezed up! I have a 56 plate 2l st engine and just wondering if it will fit stright in or is there mods you have to do to get it in?

it should be easy enough to do. drive train complete and ecu swap.

I never got the ecu to go with it? Any chance i can get the 1.6 programed for that engine? Also my 1.6 had a screw on oil filter and the st has got paper filter will this be a problem?

That is not true, at least if the Duratec is the same style as the Zetec-E engine it replaced, you will most likely find the exhaust and inlet are on opposing sides? There probably are a lot of other things as well, i.e. is the gearbox different on the ST to the Zetec S engine which will be an IB5, will it fit?

ford bell housing patterns will fit each other. but drive train includes the gearbox.

ST engine has a screw on oil filter mate. Box is an ib5 not sure what's on the 1600 engine though can't imagine it would be much different.

Zetec S is IB5 as well
