Default QUICK ANSWER NEEDED: Amal valve operation with ignition off?

Is the Amal valve designed to hold pressure with the ignition off?
Seem to have a problem with boost and after hooking up a compressor the valve seems to vent to atmosphere around 18psi, is this normal?

Yeah the solenoid clicks, I've tested it from
ignition and with a separate battery, so not doubt that's working but I wandered what it's off or 0v function was, it seems fine until 18psi then it pisses out air.

Thanks for the assistance lads, I swapped it last night and it works fine now, the valve just wouldn't hold pressure even though it was clicking as it should've been.

Yeah too right, although it did involve a bit of head scratching as it appeared it was working ok, or atleast clicking, but as I found out that is only half the story!
