Fiesta ST starting problem
Hi, the past few months i have been having problems with my car starting, sometimes it starts and sometimes it take 2 attempts, i took it to the garage as the engine management light was on and its saying it was the lamba sensor, so i replaced that but light is still on and comming back as lamba sensor. The boy at the garage has sayed it could be the fuel pump? but i have looked into some forums and there saying it could be the ecu needs updated? has any1 had this problem and been able to solve it? all comments would be appreciated as i am completely lost to what it is and i need it fixed asap for getting a new car.
Thanks.
Thanks.

When the same fault returns after replacing the sensor, it could be a wiring fault.
A defective ecu is also possible, but that doesn't happen very often.
Have you used an original Ford sensor?
What's the exact fault code? When possible with number.
What's the fuel usage doing? More, same?
Fuel pump may cause the starting problem, but so could a leaking injector or a leaking fuel pressure regulator. Anything causing the fuel pressure to drop.
Does the fuel pump start to run when you turn the ignition on? When yes, wait 2 seconds before starting the engine.

The fuels not the best but it did get better when i replaced the sensore.
Thanks for the comment
