CVH Dipstick tube Seal
Im getting a leak around the base of the dipstick tube where it fitted into the bottom of the block. It appears just to be a push fit into the block? is there meant to be a rubber grommet/washer here at all to make a seal, or is it a case of cleaning it up as best you can and getting some sealant in there? If there's a part number for it, does anyone have it to hand? Not a biggy but im slowly trying to close down on the oil loss prior to fitting a under engine tray to the kitcar.
Thanks,
Daniel

If you have a lathe, knurling the end of the tube make sit a tight fit that won't move, put in with sealant, a good thixotropic sealant like Loctite 5900 or 5910, failing that bath sealant.
Another way of making it a tight fit is to squeeze it to make it slightly oval at the end, or to use a coarse file and rough up the end.
