focus 1.8 cheap power?
hi all
ive jus btought a 2000 1.8 focus zetec basicly im looking to meat it up abit i dont have the biggest buget ive been thinking to put the st170 intake manifold, tbs, maf, cams and exhaust manifold but i think id need to get a programmable ecu to run this setup as its vvt am i right in thinking that if so what ecu would you recommend? if this dont work ill probly do the same but with the 2 litre parts.
Any thoughts or advice would be great

Leave the inlet alone, the st170 system would never work, you'd be better off just dropping the whole engine, loom and ecu in.
Put a set of cams on your standard engine, better exhaust system and filter should give you 15-20ish bhp. Strip out the interior to make it lighter costs nothing and gives you better everything, put an st170 brake setup on it and some uprated suspension so you can stop and go round corners quicker.
Having a quick car isn't all about the engine, do the free / easy to do things first!

sounds good ive been hearin alot about a megasquirt ecu are these any good as i would like to get this so as i add to the set up i can get it mapped as i have a friend with a rollin road and alot of experiance are these ecus any good?
