ive never seen a fuel cut off on a 16i, try another fuel pump relay, u cant get them from ford anymore but mk1 &mk2 golf gti's use the same relay as a 16i, proberbly find one in ur local scrappy or most vw specialists have them

hope this helps kev

HI,

TO check relay k jetronic bridge pins at relay base 30 and 87 pump should run
with ignition on, maybe off, check this site for rs 16i,
www.durhamrsoc.co.uk under electrical it list fuel safetypump relay located on
steering column???, k jetronic systems usually under o/s footwell, xr3i etc.

if the system works exactly the same as xr3i there is a fuel cut off
but designed to shut off fuel when u lift off throttle, and kicks back in at around 15oo rpm, for economy, but i think your problem is either the fuel injection fuse or relay, so bypass it and if it runs u know its the relay, if not go for the fuse
or check for continuity no breaks in the wiring.

Dave.
