Default Air temp sensor on cozy management HELP NEEDED SEE PICS

Does any body know where i can get an adapter to fit the newer style air temp sensor to the EFI inlet in the old air temp sensor position.

All is clear in the photos.

And before anyone notices the new sensor is a water temp sensor for illistration purposes.

I think the fiesta turbo may have used an adapter as standard??

Old sensor is M16x1.5 new sensor is M12x1.5

New sensor is the bottom one, you can see the hole it has to go in.

New sensor in hole....hole is to big, adaptor needed to make it fit

New sensor is on the right.

Cheers

Matt

When you say "new sensor" do you mean cossie inlet air temp sensor? (I'm assuming so as you show a cossie coolant sensor in the pic as you mentioned) If so, the cossie IAT sensor is M14x1.5
(the ECT sensor that you show is M12x1.5mm)

Are you sure the original is M16? IIRC I thought they were 3/8" BSP..?
When we fitted cossie temp. sensors to the zetec inlet (same original sensor thread as EFi AFAIK) i used a 3/8"x1/4" reducing bush, drilling the bore out and tapping M14x1.5 for the sensor - this leaves very little wall thickness! so use Loctite threadlock and screw the adaptor bush in carefully, then when it's set, screw in the sensor.

If it's not the cossie IAT sensor you are trying to fit, then I'll get my coat..

Just get a machine shop to make an internally threaded plug then have a welder fix it to the manifold.

Simple if you can find the right people.

Christ mate you've just thrown a right spanner in the works.

I thought this would be easy.

My sensor IS a M12x1.5 Bosch 0 280 130 039.

However this is a full race spec sensor and i was purely assuming it was the same body as the Cozy sensor.

This is my sensor

Think i will have to get a brass plug and drill and tap the centre

Cheers people

ah, right, wrong assumption on my part...
if they are Bosch sensors, then yeah, they are probably all M12
I'm still not sure the original sensor thread is M16 though... could be wrong

Just a thought, but have you tried a local pneumatic dealer, They usually stock all sorts of step downs, male to female adaptors etc. Might save you having to mess around making them.

Just had a look on microcat for you mate after i found that my FRST had its ACT sensor screwed into an adaptor which then screwed into the inlet manifold. There is an adaptor called item 8A on the CVH Turbo screen (With 8 being the ACT sensor), named 'Adaptor, CVH 1.6 EFi Turbo', FINIS 1659269, Approx price £3.34 inc vat. My ACt sensor however does not look like yours, its a black conical sensor

Hope That Helps

Thanks

Matt
