Default at what revs will my turbo kick in roughly?

im building a 2.0 zetec turbo and will be using a gt2860rs turbo with a 0.64 exhaust housing running about 20psi boost, just wondering what revs the turbo will kick in roughly ?
cheers

Things like cam timing are going to effect it, but somewhere between 2K and 3K it should start to make proper boost.

The problem though at that sort of boost pressure, is that you'll probably find by 5K or so that its starting to really tail off again, so not ideal for a performance application.

A bigger turbo would be the best way to help it hold on longer, although of course it will start later then too.

But if its just a road car and wont be driven particuarly fast anyway im sure you will love the quick response of the turbo you have got already, not just in terms of the rpm that it works at but also in terms of when you are cruising down the motorway at part throttle at 3krpm and touch the throttle and it will just fuck off in a hurry as it will spool so quickly

That is exactly what I want it to do , but I don't want it to be pulling like a train up to 5000rpm then pull like a 1.2 lol is it going to be a big decrease I'n power ?

Your torque figure will probably drop in value by about half or a third in the space of about 1000rpm TBH

It it will probably go from something like 300lbft at 4500 to 150-200lbft at 5500 rpm

So would it be best to just change gear at like 5000rpm so the torque curve starts again ?
