Default Focus 1.8tdci, non start

Hi all,

Im a newbie here as my daughter has just got a focus 2002 1.8tdci and its playing up.

She was parking outside her house when it just cut out. She tried restarting it but it fires up for a second then dies.

I have held the trip counter and it displays the dtc code 9318 which is low batt Volts , so I stuck a decent battery on there and the problem persists.

I changed the cam sensor, no luck.

other info which may be relevant:
She does have a habit of driving to the range guide and regualrly runs it down in the tank to the bottom. I am saying this as it does feel like a fuel issue to me.
When the car konked out there were no warning lights on at all, and none came on.
About a month ago it kept stalling and had no throttle response, so I changed the throttle pedal assembly which cured it.
When it was running the revs used to die away after 3200 rpm rather than around 4400.

Any ideas as to where to go next and what to check for before I have to give it to a garage.

Anyway many thanks for your help in advance

Hi
No I don't know, how likely is this to be the fault?

And is there a special way to bleed up after fitting a filter or just fill it up first?
Cheers

My focus tdci had a service earlier in the year and after the fuel filter change it ran like shit for about 2 week. It started on the key after the service but seemed to take forever to get rid of air out the system. Although they are supposed to be self bleeding
