If it is on the outlet side which is what it sounds like then apart from an exhaust blow it should not cause anything unless it is equipped with lambda then you will find that the mixture will richen up as oxygen is getting in and causing the sensor to see a lean mixture and this could cause issues , should not change boost level unless the system is seeing a weak mixture and turning boost back to prevent damage .

Yeah I have a lambda right after the turbo on the elbow and the car Smells like it's running rich. It has a decat but no EML on and unplugging the lambda doesn't bring it on neither :s
