hello we changed engine in my focus mk1 1600 for another think its a mk2 engine most things were the same though now it wont fire up we have spark an fuel. engine management light comes on when we try to start it. Any help would be appreciated

 

I assume you are using the 2L ecu ?, have you re chipped the key ?

It's not a 2l just another 1.6. All I got was bare engine an changed everything from blown engine onto new one

 

Won't be 2L as this is a very involved and difficult conversion, the 1600 in the MK1 and 2 is EXACTLY the same engine, don't let the "Duratec" name fool you. It is however avaliable in two power outputs 100HP which is the same as your original engine or with VCT which gives an extra 15HP and so 115HP, I suspect you have the former otherwise you would find you would have spare wiring etc, if you did have the latter then you need the additional wiring etc and different ECU.

In any case the fact you have the EML on shows something is wrong, check you have reconnected all the sensors.
