hi, i have a 2001 2.0 turbo diesel transit, it willnt start on its own! give it a bit of easy start and it will start and run but will be very flat???? leave it half hour and it willnt start unless you give it some more easy start???? help!!!!!

Lack of(suffecient) fuel, try the obvious first, bleeding and fuel filter.

dont quote me but i think there is a one way valve after the filter to stop fuel draining back to the tank, these are shit. you could try taking it out and replacing it with a hand primer.

 

It will probably b addicted now had same problem turned out to b diesel pump replaced that with a expensive new one had it all done by Ford but it still wouldn't start without a sniff bloody stuff worse thing invented.

 

having same problems with a 2.4 one and ive had pump recond too and tried running it off a seperate fuel system and will only run for 15 minutes or so then wont re start til it feels like

I don't know how to explain it other than the engine gets addicted to easy start some how like a junkie needs a fix its the same if u use brake and clutch cleaner I heard it something to do with the ethanol content in it?

 

Oh i see, is there a cure? some sort of methadone programe prehaps?

 

Well yeah its very similar just stop using it and keep cranking for a few minutes everyday without using it and it will fire after a few days took me 6 days of this morning and night b4 it would fire without it lol!

 

yes the vehical will have to have the ORIGINAL problem fixed lol
