Default mk4 xr3i cabriolet starting issues HELP!!

HI I HAVE A MK4 XR3I CABBIE WITH EFI ENGINE.....

A FW MONTHS BACK THE CAR WAS RUNNING THEN SUDDENLY JUST CONKED OUT AND GAVE UP.....

ON TURNING THE IGNITION WE FOUND THE CAR HAD NO SPARK......CHECKING EVERYTHING WE ESTABLISHED IT COULD BE THE COIL PACK............IT WASNT.........HAVE BEEN TOLD IT MAY BE THE CRANK SENSOR BUT CANT SEEM TO FIND ONE ON THE CAR..............
ANY HELP WILL BE MASSIVLEY APPRECIATED BEFORE I END UP LOSING MY RAG AND BEATING THE CAR WITH A BRANCH FAULTY TOWERS STYLE

the crank sensor should be on just above the starter motor held in with a small torque bolt

Crank sensor will be in the block, look behind the exhaust manifold/downpipe over to the gearbox side of the block, it'll have a wire going into it.

It must have one for the ECU to register the engine turning over and therefore producing a spark!

As said before , must have a crank sensor if EFI , have a look at my location , pm me if you wish and we can have a chat by phone if easier

are you sure somebody told me crank sensrs were only fitted from 1990 onwards.......going have a look again tomorrow will keep ya informed..............sorry but i clueless and so is everyone else who has come to look at the car

just a tought,
does it get feul. as there is a fuel cut out in the boot under the tyre.
just press the white butten in.

Safty for crashes ect, might also cut sparks but not sure...
