hi i have a fiesta 2003 1.4 ghia only done 28k and has a rattle noise on the engine and stops when i put the clutch down, any ideas what could be causing this problem?

is that an expensive job, it recently had the clutch done by mr clutch and had 2 years garantee so can take it back to them

 

i dont think they would of replced it mate but give them a ring it mite be covered ,

Clutch release bearings in the ib5 boxes are notoriously noisy. My old box was, and my new box still is...

 

Thrust bearing should really be replaced anytime you do a clutch, see if they did, in which case it's their problem.

Another issue with the IB5 box is gear "thrash" , used to get it even on fairly new cars , sometimes caused by incorrect oil in transmission or incorrect level , so would have a look at that as well seeing you have just had clutch replaced , would check what you paid for on invoice as sometimes they do not replace all items to keep prices down .
