Nothing at all mate, they are physically the same, only the chip that was fitted in the factory was different, and I suspect you wont be using that anyway?

Like Stu said, no hardware differences at all.
What differences do you think there are?

You will have to fit a L8 loom as well then mate. And the PF09 TPS.

And you need a remap.
Don't know what will happen if you do not add the knock sensor the standard L8 has.

Why the L8?

As said about the differences, the reason people swap the wires is that the PF01 and the PF09 outputs are reversed (I.E 5V at no throttle with a decreasing value according depending how far the throttle is opened) PF01 is also contains a switch as it is open circuit with no throttle IIRC. L8 expects to see the reverse of the above.

Stu out of interests what are the other differences between the two looms then?

For all those goodies the P8 would be better.
But you have to add wiring for the Oxygen sensor if you want closed loop.

Nothing, its a normally open sensor so the ECU wont know its not there. The engine will though when it detonates and blows up. LOL

L8 can do all that no problem and works out a similar price once a driver is installed. VERY few people can supply a good P8 calibration that will work WITHOUT the lambda sensor though, so take care when you choose...

The done thing is to swap the wires on the TPS itself, this is for the reason I mention above, HOWEVER Stu says you should fit the loom and PF09 TPS as well, I don't know why this is perhaps he can elaborate?

I know the PF01 TPS contains a switch and is open circuit with no throttle, PF09 does not, so I think this may be why?

Is it only the green top version that only had the knock sensor? or maybe I was misinformed. It would be good to know as I do no have a knock sensor and only after installing Stu's closed loop.

No, you missunderstand, he said he isnt willing to swop the wires, so i replied then he will have to change the loom. Either/Or.

Correct with regards PF01/09.

Hi, people. one more question:
i have a red label L8 ECU and st.2 closed loop chip for L8 (from Superchips). After chip installing i have 3.1 fault code (oxygen sensor i think). Can i connect an oxygen sensor to red label L8 ECU? Will it work correct?

Nope, all L8 has it.
Stu, is it mean that ALL L8 redtop engines has a khock sensor?

The L8 hardware is the same, but the software isn't so I think it's possible to connect a Lambda also I think all vairients of 4x4 YBG and YBJ had the knock sensor. Should be on the right hand side (Exhaust) on the block at the bottom.
