I'm battling a missfire on my 4x4 saff cos and have been told several times that it may be the coolant temp sensor.

Problem is, I'm f***ed if I can find it


I've been told that it's blue in colour and is located at the back of the rocker cover but still no joy.

Am I being a complete knob or is it a pain in the arse to find?

 

look around the bottom of the dipstick handle,bit of a pain to get at

 

immediately below the coolant hose that goes into the side of the head next to the dipstick

you don't actually need to access the sensor to test it, you can test it's resistance at the ecu end (with the ecu unplugged)
