s2 wing mirror glass removal

Default s2 wing mirror glass removal

anyone now how to remove the glass from a set of s2 wing mirrors without damaging the glass as ive got another set to put on my car but they have no glass in em

any help appriciated

From what I recal they just pop out. They're fixed in a ball and socket type fitting. Just be gentle and spread load as u prise it out.

Hi .
There is a shallow round annulus, about 3" diameter, that the mirror backing moulding locates and clips into. If you can, move the mirror so that the outer vertical edge protrudes from body. Then pass a flat plastic scraper, or similar behind (being careful not to damage heating element connectors) and gently lever/snap mirror away from the head. Dont use a screwdriver .. cos that can shag it ; )

Thought this might help as I've just stripped this one down ready for a refurb to go on my new S2! Popped out dead easy with a wide flat tool
