Hi my focus tivct has started making a loudish clicking noise for about a second or so when driving off from cold, this isn't the tapety noise from the injectors but something else (similar to a pinking sound). I think it is a similar noise when the engine is switched off, where I get a brief clicking shortly after switching the engine off.

Were in the same boat mate, I have the same problem, my 2007 focus went back to the dealer today to find a solution but it's difficult as the noise goes when warm, my noise gets worse when u put my front heater on, it sounds like it's coming from the area that the tivct valves timing bit are, loud ticking noise! Drives me mad!!!
