Default RST Head Gasket

Simple question, fitted new genuine ford head gasket to realise I hadnt put washers on bolts so had to take them out, will head gasket be ok with new bolts torqued down or will it need a new one again? Ordering bolts just now so thought Id better ask. Also bolts say 18/41 lbs/ft then 90 degrees then 90 degrees again am I better doing it this way or how the haynes maual says?

The HG will be perfectly ok to use again, as not been heated ?
I've got the new plug, so will try and sort in the morning for you.

as tabetha said, gasket will be fine! some manufacturers actually say to torque the head, then slacken it and torque it all over again, helps bed the gasket into the sufaces

I have your sump plug tapped to 1/8 NPT-27 sat here on me desk, will post in morning for you.
The reason why the hole isn't dead centre is because the "nut" part of the plug isn't in line perfectly with thread part, bloody shocking quality really, they are obviously just spat out of a machine, it will do the job perfectly though, they are a very hard metal(lot of carbon) not quite 10 form hard but plenty strong enough.

headgasket will be fine mate, my pal changed into second instead of 4th at santa pod in his fiesta turbo instantly destroying most of his valves, he managed to find a head for sale at a trader stand so duly got the spanners out and swopped the head over using the 30,000 mile plus headgasket lol! it got him back home to preston
i asked him about 2 months later if he had swopped it for a new one and he still hadnt lol! i wouldnt reccomend reusing to this extreme tho haha

I would definately not change the gasket, but I would make sure to unslacken the bolts and fit the washers one by one. New bolts would be on my list though.

Jesus that arrived quick, I didn't want to tap it any deeper as trying to preserve some edge of the nut.

well fits perfect mate very happy can finally get last gauge working now got a question for you, fitted new head bolts today, I have my own torque wrench but only goes to 80 nm and final stage is 100-110 according to haynes manual, so used mates but turned a few times more than I thought was needed so stopped, will this have warped head? was only 1st bolt? got myself worried now if this is warped it being broken for parts. Found out that my mates torque wrench is fooked, so ordered new bolts yet again and a nice new torque wrench!!

I would just torque the other ones up with a decent reading torque wrench, being slightly overtight on stretch bolts isn't going to kill it, will be fine, so long as it's not like 5 turns extra!!

NO, never do, I just screw in a sensor to set the depth, the problem with the sump plug is there is so little metal left on the outside hex part, and the fact that the thread part was not in line with the hex, good old ford quality, so centre of thread found on lathe was not centre of hex, so had to leave a little bit shallow, but works fine.
