NO, never do, I just screw in a sensor to set the depth, the problem with the sump plug is there is so little metal left on the outside hex part, and the fact that the thread part was not in line with the hex, good old ford quality, so centre of thread found on lathe was not centre of hex, so had to leave a little bit shallow, but works fine.
