Zetec Turbo - Info required.
Hi all, im planning on building a Zetec turbo engine for my MK4 van, and i am after a little info.
Dont want to be spending a fortune on building the engine and have had a search and read about on here, i am planning on using a 2.0 engine, decompression plate rather than expensive forged low compression pistons, RS turbo manifold and turbo. I have had a look at zetec-turbo.co.uk website and seems to be a lot of usefull information on there.
While i am away with work i am going to try and source an engine and firstly need to know what is the best/easiest to use, siver top/black top any particular year/model car to try and find one out of? Alternitively if anyone has one for sale get in touch.
This is the first time iv done anything like this so i am expecting a lot of trial and twice as much error, but gotta start somewhere!
Thanks in advance for any help!!

1/4 mile beasty!!!!
Buy pistons it won't last 2seconds with a decomp plate I've tried and failed!! No point doing it twice you can get rods and pistons for around £550 I'd go blacktop aswell !

BC gearbox is the type fitted to mk3/4 escorts, the decomp plate i used was 1.6mm thick and made of aluminium, but a 2.0 one will ahve to be a different size as the bore size is different, speak to ferriday motorsport they will sort you out, What engine management you going to use? you will need an uprated clutch and bigger injectors too
