Default what should i be paying?

ok think my thrust bearing is going as i got rattle from gearbox that stops when clutch is pushed down.

am planning on getting this done soon.
i am not sure what price i am looking to pay for this job.
i o i should get the clutch does aswell wile they are doing it.

anybody no how much i should be paying for this o be done in a garage?
dont want to get ripped off.

Thrust bearings normally whine not rattle, the rattle could be something more major wrong with the box itself, hopefully not but might be an idea to let some gearbox recon people have a drive.
I've never done one on the V6, but imagine it to be a pita job, think I'd be setting aside £400 tbh.

if the noise goes when you dip the pedal? then I doubt it's the release bearing and more than likely a problem within the box itself m8!
