ford focus 1.4 zetec
i have just bought a ford focus ,its a v plate 1999 ,its got 88 k on the clock ive had it less than 2 weeks , its started burning oil ,, i got told from different garages thats its valve stem seals and possible piston rings , i dont think that it is , i changed the oil and oil filter , there is alot of white smoke at back end ,and alot of water , [Condensation] when you rev the car up , its ok on tickover , the temp is ok ,its not boiling ,its not losing power , if anybody can advise me on what to do next it would be appreciated thanks

More likely stem seals than engine wear, depending on how it's been treated as bottom end on these engines are good for big miles.
Easiest way to tell is when the smoke occurs, if it happens on overrun then likely to be stem seals or when first started up, if it is smoking all the time then suspect bore/piston or ring wear.
