ford ka battery lt on
battery lt came on, orange red wire on 3-pin plug to alternator corroded so bought new loom from ford and spliced it in,batt lt still on,replaced alternator, light still on-battery seems to be charging ok-any ideas as to why light staying on.Also where does wiring loom from alternator go to.
I thought these might have been ecu controlled charging circuits but doesn't sound it from your description.
Anyway the thin wire leading to the dash charge lights only needs a earth to illuminate the light, with ignition on, so check the wire isn't earthing out on something, the earth would normally come from the alternator, which changes to live upon charging hence putting the light out, so needs sorting asap, look for a worn through wire etc between alt and dash light.

the wire rubs through up on the bulkhead fella it comes from the alternator under the radiator down the passenger side inner wing across the bulkhead in through the drivers side check also the terminal on the big power lead from the alternator they go green and rot off u wont see it til u undo it
