Hi there as above i have a usb elm327 scan tool and was wondering if it can be used to read ecu on a 2002 ford mondeo tddi. I have a sealey scan tool but it says linking error when trying to connect, dont know if car is obd compliant as a deisel but thought maybe there might be software out there for reading it through the elm327 system. thanks

 

Diesels do not have to comply to any rules (EOBD) until 2004.
Most of them cannot be read with an elm interface.
