Unhappy replaced engine having trouble starting car

Refitted ford fiesta mk3 1992 k reg model with HCS engine, proceeded to engine startup disconnected spark plugs and ignition coil. Oil light went out after a while. All good there. Replaced sparkplugs rechecked engine oil level reconnected ignition coil and ht leads, Tried to start engine. Engine turns over but will not start. Puzzled ???. I understand it will take some time for restart, due to the lack of pressure in fuel lines. Is there another solution., or am i missing something else. Please help ...

Most likely something silly that has been missed.
Check for a spark, and 12v permanent live at the injectors with ignition on first.

checked sparks ok. no problems with electrics. got two options to check 1. fuel cut out switch . 2. fuel pump/sender unit on petrol tank leaving till last big job little ones first. any input a must.

Press the shrader valve that is used for pressure testing the fuel rail, see that it is under pressure, then as you say there is a 12V live at the injectors, this then leaves the earth, which is provided by the ecu, to open each injector, make sure your phase/cam sensor is ok, if they use one I assume it will be sequential injection, in which case it will have one.

HT leads correct ?, these are, don't forget 1243 and not the normal 1342 firing order.
