MK1 XR2 Carb problem

MK1 XR2 Carb problem
What carb would you recommend I fit to my XR2, it has a twin choke weber with auto choke at the moment, the original fit carb I think, 1.6 OHV.
Would like a manual choke as the auto choke is giving problems as well
Been told manual choke weber part no. 18890662 would be the replacement, any advice please?
Also who would supply one.
Thanks

Problem is I dont think the carb is working correctly either, when the throttle is opened fully the two butterflies are not opening much. The car does not have that much power for an XR2, I have just bought the car and I think someone has been working on the carb, there was a bit missing off the choke, the small bar that increases the revs when cold. I got the part but does not improve things. Think it may be better fitting new one, any thoughts folks??

What carb exactly is it, will be marked on the base of the carb edge, there are two fitted to the xr2, the later ones were a bit smaller and weedier power wise, but better for emissions, these had a vacuum secondary, they always jam, the secondary usually due to lack of use, that puts it down to around 55bhp!!.
The earlier carb is the best, as fitted on the xr3, better power and pretty much as good on mpg front when set right.
The later carb is a synchronous carb, where the 2nd venturi will open when the primary is around 2/3 open.
The early, 81-86 carb is a 32DFT, a slightly smaller venturi version was even used on the 1300 XR2, but your version as all 1.6 had venturis of 24 and 25 mm, the later carb 86-89 is a 28/32 TLDM, with venturis of 21 and 23mm, and again vac secondary.
There is something drastically wrong with adjustment if you cant get on the early carb both venturis fully open at full throttle, and certainly the primary venturi on the later carb, the one with choke flap on top of it is the primary.
I would check you are getting full throttle movement first.

I think it is a 32 DFT, but will confirm this when I take the carb off.
I reckon someone has stripped this carb down and not rebuilt it properly, the throttle linkage opens fully but the the butterflies are not opening enough, plus the choke is knackered, so it looks like a strip down has to be done.
I have been offered a new weber carb kit that is a direct replacement for a 81 - 84 XR2, the kit comes with a manual choke, for Ł120. I'm tempted to go for that option.
Will get a chance to get the carb off the car next week, so will post an update then
Thanks very much for the info so far, much appreciated

No probs matey, just be aware that some replacement carbs are more eco freindly than power friendly, so check things out first, the DFT is a very good piece of kit, and will do 40mpg without problem when driven normally, give me a shout if stuck on anything.
