I think it is a 32 DFT, but will confirm this when I take the carb off.

I reckon someone has stripped this carb down and not rebuilt it properly, the throttle linkage opens fully but the the butterflies are not opening enough, plus the choke is knackered, so it looks like a strip down has to be done.

I have been offered a new weber carb kit that is a direct replacement for a 81 - 84 XR2, the kit comes with a manual choke, for £120. I'm tempted to go for that option.

Will get a chance to get the carb off the car next week, so will post an update then
