The bonnet cable on my rs turbo s2 has snapped right near the front, I can't get in anywhere to get at the catch because i have a big grs intercooler in the way, I can't get at it from underneath because there is a heatshield on top of the turbo,so im a bit stuffed, can anybody help (please!) is ther any other place i can get at the catch to release it? I know its a boring post but I'm really stuck here!

 

all i can suggest is keep poking around from underneath, sorry p.s i am from cas

 

Yes I'll probably have to jack it right up and get a torch or something so i can see what im doing. what car you got do I know you ?

 

red series 2 on focus 17 s, car hasnt been out for a while due to rebuild. I left cas high in 97.

 

Im not originally from cas lived in cas/ ponte about 8 year i live in cas town i have red series 2 with 17's (look like split rims) and rear screen top spoiler, i have seen a red s2 in my street with turbosytems sticker/sunstrips, and i've seen a red std. s2 in ponte

 

taking the bumper off might give you a bit more space to get in there

 

will look out for you mate mine will be back on road in feb ish. bumper off sounds good

 

yes good idea i'd sort of thought of that but i thought you needed bonnet up to get to the nuts? If this is not the case please let me know where the bolts are situated, cheers

Done it. after hours of messing around removing bumper and fan etc i managed to whack it from underneath with a long bar! Doh! wasn't even bust it was a tad too long had come off the hook!

 

sound, well done make sure its well oiled
