Question Mk 4 RS cab engine probs

Hi there all

How easy is it to change a head gasket on the RS engine? Also what sort of costs would I be expecting to pay to do it (parts mailny)?

Cheers peeps

depends really, if you not running to much boost you can get head set and bolts for about Ł30-40 from locql motor factors. you will need the head skimming as well that will cost between Ł30-40 and then you want to put it back together with a new belt Ł25 and give it o+f, plugs and air filter. just remember "cleanliness is next to godliness". make sure everyhting is clean and traces of old gaskets, sealants is removed before you put it back together.

It's probably about the easiest hg you could do, the head may not need skimming, check with torch and straight edge first.
